Sports Massage Therapy and Sports Injury Treatment

Sports massage therapy and sports injury treatment are effective therapeutic treatments for anyone involved in exercise, from the occasional runner to the club-level athlete.

Although the aim of exercise is to improve fitness, strength and stamina it can also cause great physical stress to muscles, tendons and ligaments resulting in pain and injury. Sports therapy helps to alleviate this stress and assists the recovery from activity, preventing injury and restoring muscle-balance.

Treatment can also help to resolve more serious joint problems, whether acute or long standing. The return to fitness is enhanced with advice regarding stretching, exercises and training programmes.

Additionally, general therapeutic massage to the back, shoulders, neck, arms and legs is available. Massage techniques are adapted to the individual’s needs and focus on problematic areas providing deep relaxation and stimulating the body’s immune system.
