Intermediate Cost Counselling Scheme
For those who have completed their counselling course (or who are in their final months of psychotherapy training), we are able to offer a post qualification placement for up to two years. This is designed to give you the 450 hours of supervised clinical practice generally required for professional accreditation, and to help you to consolidate your therapeutic practice whilst also introducing you to private work.
You will be expected to see up to 8 clients per week, though a reduced case load may be negotiated with the Clinical Director, attend fortnightly individual supervision, keep appropriate records and abide at all times by the BACP ‘Guidelines on good practice in counselling and psychotherapy’.
There are also opportunities for carrying out assessments, as all clients are offered an initial screening interview by a member of the assessment team.
Supervision is charged at £35.00 and provided in house from one of the Clinic’s supervisory team - all of whom have a recognised qualification in clinical supervision. Alternatively, suitably qualified and experienced external supervisors will be considered by negotiation with the Clinical Director.
Interviews are generally held in July or September for an Autumn or January start date.
