Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is based on the idea that emotions and behaviour are determined by thinking, CBT aims to alter negative thought processes which lead to distress.

By monitoring emotional upset and activating events, CBT can identify maladaptive beliefs, weigh up the evidence for these and replace them with more realistic ideas.

CBT has been shown to be especially helpful with anxiety, depression and phobias.
