Trainee Counselling and Psychotherapy Scheme

For those who are currently studying on a recognised Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy course and who have completed a basic skills or introductory course, we are able to offer training placements for up to two years. This is designed to give you the 100 hours supervised clinical practice generally required by most local and national courses.

Trainee applicants should be studying one of more of the following modalities: Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Systemic Therapy.

All clients are offered an initial screening interview by a member of the assessment team, and taping is permitted subject to consent by the client. You will be expected to see up to 3 clients per week, attend fortnightly individual supervision, keep appropriate records and abide at all times by the BACP Ethical Framework.

Supervision is free and provided in house from one of the Clinic’s supervisory team - all of whom have a recognised qualification in clinical supervision.
